Finally sat down and played with all of the "detail" shots I took at my brother's wedding. Maybe someday I'll be brave enough to do a whole wedding...but if you ever need a second shooter to do extra stuff, count me in! :-D

Rock the Shot Contest Entry - Halloween Costumes { sugar land, tx children photographer }

Alright, so I'll admit it - I don't like Halloween. Never have, never will. So when I saw the theme for the contest this month, I thought, "Well, there is another one I don't have an entry for." And was about to move on. Then I had a "DUH!" moment when I just realized I dressed up my son like a cowboy for some of his birthday pictures. I absolutely HAD to enter this picture. :-)

 

Rock The Shot ~ Floral Still Life Challenge

So my completely random thing that I love to do with my camera is take macro shots of flowers. My father had found a macro attachment for $12 on Amazon that just screws on to my 50mm lens - at first I thought for $12 it is going to be useless. And at first it was. I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to get a picture that wasn't just a complete blur. But I started playing with settings and voila - I suddenly figured out how to get amazing macro shots. So this was my most recent of one of the flowering bushes in our backyard; I had some fun processing it with actions that are usually too heavy or weird colored for portraits, but work perfectly for artistic pictures of flowers. I hope you like it as much as I do. :-)

I Heart Faces - "Framed" Challenge

I wasn't going to enter this one...but then I took Ian to the park this week and decided I should take my camera. As I was going through the pictures, I came across this one and knew I had to enter this. :-)

Favorite Shot of 2012 - Rock the Shot Photo Challenge

I didn't even have to think twice about it - I KNEW this was my favorite shot from 2012. Well, there were several from this set that are my favorite...but I think this one tops them all. :-)
